(Tour of Antwerp, lunch and free time)
Antwerp has experienced eighteen centuries of somewhat chaotic growth. Just like any other city, buildings have been constructed with great fervour, some of which have since been restored and others that have since been demolished. In the 19th century, the medieval heart of the city was given an irreversible facelift, which is where this tour will take you to. As you stroll along the winding streets, you’ll be able to see for yourself, just how this relatively small city grew into a world-renowned, 16th-century metropolis. You´ll see Het Vleeshuis (Butchers´ Hall), the town hall and the towering guild houses that bring pomp and circumstance of times gone by; you´ll walk past gothic buildings and modern buildings: buildings that merge into a mix of different architectural styles and buildings that bear witness to an eventful past. The highlight of the tour will be a visit to the Church of Our Lady.
Lunch will be served at the end of the walk, followed by free time to explore the city or go shopping.
