(Boat trip, lunch, tour of Bruges, free time)
Bruges is a vibrant city with a lively and captivating historic city centre. It has churches, monumental buildings, squares and courtyards of all shapes and sizes. It also has beautiful gateways dotted around the old city and it has canals that the Belgians call ´reien´. These canals are lined with pavement cafés and paths that will take you all around the city. This is why Bruges is often referred to as the Venice of the North.
Your trip to historic and romantic Bruges starts with a boat trip on the canals: a wonderful way to see the city. After lunch, the guide will show you the sights, including the Begijnhof, a famous béguinage or courtyard, the town hall and the 83-metre-high belfry called the Belfort. You will also be shown the statue by Michelangelo and Bruges's many museums. There will be plenty of time for you to try some of Bruges´s delicious specialities and have a better look at some of the sights.
